Birds Of Tokyo

"March Fires is a gem" - Sydney Morning Herald

"Stirring, anthemic and tailor-made for arenas" - Rolling Stone

"Epic and atmospheric ... songs designed to fill a room with euphoric smiles and bolts of emotion" - J Mag

"A big record in every sense… stirring choruses, grand arrangement" – The Brag

These are just some of the rave reviews Birds of Tokyo have received from critics. After completing a national run of sell-out shows this year, Birds of Tokyo continue to fly high with their ‘March Fires’ album tour. Birds of Tokyo’s hit song ‘Lanterns’ has exceeded triple-platinum sales. It was also the “Most Played Australian Song on Radio” for the first half of this year. It also became the highest selling first week sales of any album of 2013. The album was certified gold within four weeks of release, with ‘Lanterns’ reaching #2 on the National Australian Airplay Chart and certified triple platinum.

The band’s fourth album, ‘March Fires’, debuted at no. 1 on the National ARIA Albums Chart. It will be launched in North American early 2014.

Birds of Tokyo are known for their bittersweet rock sounds. Aussie fans can’t get enough of them. The indie band’s previous albums have been received well. Their self-titled third album spent over eight months in the Australian Top 20. The album was certified double platinum, and it picked up an ARIA Award for ‘Best Rock Album’ in 2010.

The band’s latest album, ‘March Fires’, is an exploration and reinvention for Birds of Tokyo. It’s a story of burning down the old and coming together to build something new.

Catch Birds of Tokyo in December 11, 2013 at Coolangatta Hotel, Marine Parade Coolangatta. Coolangatta Hotel is just a few minutes away from our Tugun Holiday Apartments. The concert is at 8pm.
