Zoo Run

An action-packed and fun-filled fun run for a meaningful cause, the Zoo Run challenge will be held for the first time in the beautiful community of Currumbin with the aim to save the wildlife here.

Taking place on 30 November in the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, the Zoo Run Challenge will set another record-breaking sporting history on the Gold Coast as it not only gathers the toughest athletes but it will also be raising funds for the benefit of the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital. The Zoo Run’s proceeds will be given to the protection of the wildlife and to provide the best treatment and care to thousands of sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife.

The Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation is proud to be the beneficiary and organiser of the first Zoo Run on the Gold Coast. Since it was launched three years ago by Tegan Lather, a young Australian student who has a passion to save the wildlife, it has successfully gathered funds to be donated to the county’s wildlife protection efforts. It has since then been conducted in a few towns in Australia, including last year’s Zoo Run at Australia Zoo in Beerwah, which raised more than $20,000 for the benefit of Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital.

This year will surely be another great success at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and what’s more exciting about it is that runners can also enjoy in the amazing views of the natural surroundings in Currumbin during the race.

Make sure that you come fully prepared and fit for the challenge. A difficult race is featured on the 5 kilometre race, which will be run along steep hills, narrow windy bush track with exhilarating obstacles.

For families and those who just want some fun sporting action, they can join the run or walk during the 2 kilometre family fun run/walk.

The Zoo Run is open to more sponsors and volunteers. Runners for the 5km challenge will have to pay a $50 fee while a $40 fee is required for those joining the 2 km family fun run/walk.
